About The Artist
Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen is a Danish artist who works with performance, photography, video, installations, and sculpture. In general, her work concerns questions of identity, social relations, and cultural norms.
In Tivoli, she has placed a sculpture in the shape of a banana palm leaf, which in its setting works as a strange contrast to the traditional ”Copenhagen- bench” that is placed in several rows right across from Cuenca Rasmussens work, and next to another artefact from Danish cultural history- the nearly 150 year old Pantomime Theatre.
Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen (b. 1970, Denmark) lives and works in Copenhagen, and represented Denmark at the Venice biennale in 2011. Her work is included in several notable national public collections.
