About the Artist
Danish artist Pernille With Madsen primarily works with photography and video. Often making use of close-ups and unusual framing, she creates images that one cannot immediately understand or locate.
The filmic investigation that she presents here is indeed filmed at the indoor playground named Skærsilden at Tivoli, but the moving images that she creates in this scenography is equally informed and inspired by the Bauhaus School and the aesthetic possibilities that have been created through the history of filmmaking.
Pernille With Madsen (b. 1972, Denmark) lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark. She is represented in Horsens Kunstmuseum’s public collection.
