About KØPPE CONTEMPORARY OBJECTS (DK)
Køppe Contemporary Objects is a gallery and presentation platform for sculptural objects at the intersection of art, design and crafts. Køppe Contemporary Objects was founded by architect Bettina Køppe, who has extensive experience as a gallery-owner and curator in the field of craft objects.
Køppe Contemporary Objects cooperates closely with a group of artists who share an interest in the inherent possibilities of materials and the historical qualities associated with traditional crafts and techniques. The artists share a passion for exploring the meaning of objects in relation to function and iconography. Another common feature of their work is their focus on combining tradition with interpretation and experimentation to create works that hold contemporary relevance.
For CHART 2018, Køppe contemporary will present artworks from Pernille Pontoppidan Pedersen, Ole Jensen, Marianne Eriksen Scott-Hansen, Michael Geertsen and Per-René Larsen.
The exhibition tells of new tendencies and displays works by artists who work freely within the traditional barriers between craft and disciplines in the handicraft. The exhibitions show some of the fantastic, opulent and sensual pieces of some established Danish artists. The works has been created over the last year.
