30 Aug 2019 – 29 Mar 2020
CHART Curio manifests as a design exhibition created in collaboration with Designmuseum Denmark as a part of our talent programme. In line with this year’s theme Materiality, five young innovative designers from across the Nordic region will exhibit in the newly built exhibition vitrines in front of the museum’s entrance.
The exhibition titled Matters – Rethinking Materials is co-curated by Line Ulrika Christiansen, Institute Head of Domus Academy Milan, together with Pernille Stockmarr, Curator at Designmuseum Denmark. Matters – Rethinking Materials showcases design talents in a non-commercial context. The exhibition presents works by five young designers, who each in their own way, showcase visionary approaches to rethinking how materials, from the synthetic to the organic, can shape new conceptual ideas for a more sustainable design future.
Curio is an initiative which aims to develop young talents in the Nordic design scene. It is an integrated part of CHART’s talent programme also consisting of Emerging, a curated exhibition of young artists educated in the Nordic region, and Architecture, an architectural competition to build a temporary pavilion for newly graduated architects. Matters – Rethinking Material will be on display at Designmuseum Denmark from 28 August 2019 – 29 March 2020.
CHART Curio is made possible by generous support by The Nordic Culture Fund and Danish Arts Foundation.
