"I use objects, put them together and try to tell stories, but really through other people's memories."
Join us as we visit Rose Eken inside her Copenhagen studio in a new video exploring the ideas behind the artist's work and the bronze sculptures she exhibited as part of CHART in Tivoli 2024.
Starting with the artist's interest in everyday objects and striking the right balance between the "precise" and the "non-precise," the interview explores how Rose Eken's ceramic sculptures present familiar objects in a way that allows viewers to project their own experiences onto them.
The video then traces Eken's experiences working in bronze, from early commissioned pieces, right up to her most recent site-specific installation of bronze sculptures inside the historic amusement park Tivoli Gardens.
Rose Eken is represented by V1 Gallery who presented Eken's works as part of CHART in Tivoli 2024, as well as in previous years, at countless of editions of CHART's art fair inside Kunsthal Charlottenborg.
