"This is where I feel inspired, where I find peace, and it's somewhere I know very well."

Visit the Copenhagen-based sculptor Maria Rubinke inside her studio in a new video exploring the ideas behind the artist's work and the sculpture she exhibited as part of CHART in Tivoli 2024.

The interview starts with Rubinke's interest in animals and the challenge of finding symbols that represent specific bodily feelings. The conversation then continues to look at the large-scale circular bench that the artist exhibited as part of CHART in Tivoli, and the benefit of creating works that people can interact with and be themselves around.

The video also shows behind-the-scenes footage of Maria Rubinke working on a new permanent bronze sculpture commissioned by Tivoli Gardens after the last edition of CHART in Tivoli. The new sculpture is due to be installed inside the park later this summer.

Maria Rubinke is represented by Martin Asbæk Gallery who presented Rubinke's works as part of CHART in Tivoli 2024, as well as in previous editions of the art fair inside Kunsthal Charlottenborg.
