Celebrating the Art of Printed Matter

For the past 5 years, the Book & Print Fair has been a key part of CHART during the last weekend of August. This year for the first time, we have decided to move the Book & Print Fair to its own dedicated event taking place from Saturday 29 to Sunday 30 November 2025. Inside Festsalen at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, this year's fair will bring together 26 publishers from across the Nordics, as well as presentations by Forfatterskolen, The Royal Academy and Kunsthal Charlottenborg.

At the fair you will find artist books, monographs, photo books, zines, t-shirts and totes, as well as curated presentations of lithographs, etchings, screenprints and other limited editions. Look out for books and original prints by artists such as Tal R, Apolonia Sokol, Alexander Tovborg, Anna Stahn, Anna Bjerger, Gudrun Hasle, Fryd Frydendahl, Inuuteq Storch, Ursula Reuter Christiansen and many more.

Alongside presentations by each of the publishers, the Book & Print Fair will also host a series of talks, readings and round-table discussions that will take place inside a dedicated Deep Reading Room. The Book & Print Fair is free and open for everyone to attend, no ticket required.

Talks, Readings & Signings

The Book & Print Fair programme will include a series of Talks between artists, as well as designers, publishers, curators and other figures from the Nordic contemporary art scene. This year's Talks Programme includes conversations with Jytte Rex, Hannah Toticki, Signe Høi, Fryd Frydendahl, Gudrun Hasle, Tal R and Alexander Tovborg to name just a few.

Look out also for a series of Readings by authors featured at the fair, offering a rare chance to hear voices from fiction, poetry, and theory discuss their work in their own words. This year's programme features readings by Carina Zunino, Karen Bro, Lene Abro, Ferdinand Ahm Krag, Marie Thams, Julie Sass, Jóhan Martin Christiansen, Ole Morten Nygård and Johan Zimsen Kristiansen.

Make sure to also attend one of the many exclusive Signings that will take place during the days of the fair, where you can meet the authors and artists behind the work, and come away with a signed copy of their latest book.

Deep Reading Corner

A Deep Reading Corner, produced in collaboration with a seat in Siena will transform a part of the Book & Print Fair, combining a curated display of printed matter with peaceful surroundings. The area will be designed to inspire calmness and allow for a more focused experience of the tactile, reflective, and enduring power of print in an increasingly digital world.

Each of the publishers participating at the CHART Book & Print Fair are invited to highlight one publication inside of the Deep Reading Corner. Throughout the days of the Book & Print Fair, the space will also host a variety of special events including talks, readings, Q&As and more.

We hope you will take the opportunity to slow down, tune in to your surroundings and experience the artistry of print publishing in a truly unique setting.

Accessibility

Charlottenborg is a historical site and subject to listed building status. As a result, there are aspects of the architecture at CHART that are not optimally adapted to use by wheelchair users, for example. We are acutely aware of the urgent need to change this situation.

Regrettably the CHART Book & Print Fair is not equipped with lifts. However, a temporary wheelchair stair lift will be in place during the days of the fair to ensure that Festsalen is accessible for wheelchair users.

Please contact Martin Tradsborg at production@chartartfair.com / +45 22 42 02 20 as far as possible in advance, to arrange usage of the temporary wheelchair stair lift.

Disability parking is limited at CHART. The nearest spaces are located at Harald Landers Gade behind Charlottenborg.

CHART Book & Print Fair is not ticketed and is free to attend, so there is no need to arrange additional tickets for persons accompanying visitors with specific accessibility requirements. CHART also welcomes guide dogs and other service animals.
