About The Works
Untitled, 2024
Constructed from hundreds of welded metal fragments, Kristian Dahlgaard’s sculptures form looping, drawn-like contours that resemble spontaneous sketches in space. Through a meticulous process, rigid industrial material is transformed into fluid compositions that suggest movement and immediacy. Balancing heaviness with lightness, and precision with gesture, the works evoke natural rhythms, recalling flowing water or serpentine roots while creating a striking tension between mass and weightlessness.

About The Artist
Kristian Dahlgaard (b. 1958) is a Danish sculptor whose practice explores the paradox of sculpture’s physical weight and its potential to appear almost immaterial. Through persistent investigations of form, he transforms industrial materials into unexpectedly organic and dynamic structures.
Kristian Dahlgaard is represented by Martin Asbæk Gallery
