About The Works
Gråspurv/House Sparrow, 2025
Gråspurv came from the collaborative project Conversations (If I Were You). Rooted in an intergenerational dialogue, the project explores how different artistic languages, materials, and experiences can intertwine. Inspired by Norwegian flowers and bird motifs, the work reflect on fragility, transformation, freedom, and human connection.
Combining ceramic, metal, and textile elements, the sculpture create a poetic tension between the organic and the constructed, the delicate and the enduring.

About The Artists
Kiyoshi Yamamoto is a Japanese-Brazilian artist based in Bergen. He works across textiles, performance, and installation, and his practice explores identity, hybridity, and materiality through colour-driven, immersive expressions.
Kari Aasen is a Norwegian ceramicist and visual artist based in Bergen. Over several decades, Aasen has developed an extensive artistic practice spanning ceramics, sculpture, and installation, and is regarded as a significant voice within Norwegian contemporary art and craft.
Kiyoshi Yamamoto and Kari Aasen is represented by Northing Space.
