We are happy to share some sneak peeks of artist Kaarina Kaikkonen’s “We Need Some Hope”, which was recently installed on the façade of Kunsthal Charlottenborg, facing towards the historical plaza at Kongens Nytorv.
Kaikkonen has created this site-specific installation specially for our upcoming 10th celebratory edition, where it will be greeting CHART’s visitors. “We Need Some Hope” is composed of hundreds of recycled shirts, pointing towards the historical consistency of humanity’s basic needs, regardless of period, cultural paradigm or environmental conditions.
Shaped like a monumental blooming flower, the work both highlights the entrance to CHART and extends the dialogue with contemporary art, out of Charlottenborg and into the city centre.
We are happy to share some shots of the installation process below. Those who can’t wait until CHART’s opening to see this astounding work, can already head over to Charlottenborg to take a look at “We Need Some Hope.”
