Curated for
CHART

For CHART 2026, Galleri Nicolai Wallner is pleased to present some of the strongest voices working in the Nordics today. The presentation will include a floor-based sculptural installation by Man Yau, a major painting by Clara Gesang-Gottowt, large-scale paintings by Anna Munk, and wall works by Carola Grahn.

Man Yau (FI)

Man Yau works with sculpture and installation, exploring tension, balance, and the physical properties of materials. With a particular focus on historical craft traditions, she has rigorously trained herself in mastering complex, time-intensive techniques, embedding artisanal knowledge within a contemporary sculptural language. Her works activate space through carefully calibrated structures that heighten bodily awareness and challenge the viewer’s sense of equilibrium and gravity. Through repetition and precision, she foregrounds labor, care, and discipline as integral conceptual components of the work.

Man Yau (b. 1989, Finland; lives in Helsinki) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Helsinki. Named Artist of the Year in Finland in 2025, she presented a solo exhibition at HAM Helsinki Art Museum. Her work is held in public collections such as Kiasma.

Carola Grahn (SE-Sámi)

Carola Grahn’s practice critically examines systems of power, colonial history, and Sámi identity. Through text-based works, sculpture, and installation, she exposes institutional blind spots and confronts inherited narratives embedded within Nordic society. Her practice often employs irony and subtle disruption, destabilizing dominant perspectives while reclaiming space for Indigenous voices within contemporary discourse.

Carola Grahn (b. 1982, Jokkmokk, Sweden; lives in Lund) holds an MFA from the Royal Institute of Art, Stockholm. She has exhibited widely in Sweden and internationally, and her work is included in major collections such as Moderna Museet.

Anna Munk (DK)

Anna Munk works with large-scale painting, drawing on recognizable art historical motifs and compositional structures. By reactivating familiar visual languages, she challenges distinctions between past and present, creating a dialogue between what feels historical and what is distinctly contemporary. Her paintings bridge temporal layers, unfolding spaces where tradition and immediacy coexist, and where painterly surface becomes a site of negotiation between memory and reinvention.

Anna Munk (b. 1994, Denmark; lives in Copenhagen) graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and recently presented a solo exhibition at Overgaden Institute of Contemporary Art.

Clara Gesang-Gottowt (SE)

Clara Gesang-Gottowt’s paintings merge landscape and figuration in luminous, dreamlike compositions. Her works explore perception and memory, dissolving spatial stability and inviting the viewer into atmospheres where reality and imagination subtly intertwine. Through delicate tonal shifts and spatial ambiguity, she constructs environments that feel both intimate and expansive.

Clara Gesang-Gottowt (b. 1989, Stockholm; lives in Lund) holds an MFA from the Royal Institute of Art, Stockholm. Her work was recently shown at Artipelag and is represented in the collections such as Moderna Museet.

Rasmus Myrup

Rasmus Myrup works with sculpture and installation to reactivate mythological and historical figures. Through reimagined narratives and embodied forms, he addresses themes of identity, marginality, and collective memory, proposing alternative perspectives on cultural heritage. His practice frequently gives presence to overlooked or vulnerable characters, reshaping historical imagination through empathy and speculative reconstruction.

Rasmus Myrup (b. 1991, Denmark; lives in Copenhagen) graduated from the Funen Art Academy and has presented major solo exhibitions internationally.
