CHART in Tivoli 2024

This year’s exhibition spans across a wide range of artistic practices, including conceptual, experiential, humorous and imaginative ways of working.

The 2024 edition of CHART in Tivoli will be the most interactive yet, introducing a virtual map and a free audio guide that allows visitors to engage more closely with the art than ever before.

Look out for new works by Rose Eken, Michael Johansson, Jens Settergren, and Andreas Johnen, exhibited for the first time at CHART in Tivoli 2024 and produced specifically for the occasion!

Among the existing works included in this year’s exhibition, we are delighted to present a monumental large-scale bronze sculpture by the late Danish master Per Kirkeby, marking the first time the artist’s work will ever have been exhibited inside Tivoli Gardens.

About CHART in Tivoli

In 2023, we launched a 3 year collaboration with Tivoli Gardens, the historical amusement park located in the centre of Copenhagen. Founded in 1843, Tivoli continues to be one of the city's most symbolic cultural locations.

Every summer from 2023–2025, between 12 and 15 artists will be invited to realise site-specific art installations inside the grounds of the park. With this exhibition we have been proud to inspire new collaborations across Copenhagen's cultural scenes and to offer artists a new context for their work and a new way to engage with the general public.

By placing artworks in the context of the historic amusement park, the exhibition offers an important opportunity to broaden the audience for contemporary art, whilst also allowing people to encounter art in a relaxed environment where curiosity, fun and exploration are actively encouraged.

"CHART in Tivoli speaks to the core of our mission to bring the best of contemporary art in the Nordics out into the public space. With this collaboration, we are excited to re-shape and re-define the space for contemporary art in our society today, making it more accessible and more inclusive for everyone"
