Ludvig Helin, Droppe, 2021, 62.5 x 55 cm, Oil on canvas

Emma Hartman (SE)

Emma Hartman’s practice is distinguished by her use of technique and unique pictorial language. Creating a fine balance between cooler and warmer tones, Hartman builds up a gradual intensity within her paintings by overlapping and seamlessly blending different coloured pigments. In the soft transitions between the colours and textures, Hartman creates a blurry effect that reminds us of a shimmering haze. Whilst her compositions are sharp and well-defined, colour seems to flow from her canvases enveloping their surroundings like a colourful fog.

Emma Hartman (b. 1974) lives and works in Stockholm. After beginning her studies at Gerlesborgsskolan in Stockholm, she graduated from the Umeå School of Fine Arts in 2006. Since her graduation exhibition at Bildmuseet in Umeå, Hartman has presented multiple solo exhibitions and been the recipient of several notable scholarships.

Ludvig Helin (DK)

In our booth presentation we will show to Swedish abstract painters that both work with oil on canvas. They have their own unique characteristic style and are always very true to their selves and their own way of expression. These two painters are different from one another but complement each other’s colours and motif in a lovely way. The imaginary landscape meets overleaping elements and takes the observer into another dimension.

Ludvig Helin was born in 1988 in Norsesund and lives and works in Alingsås. He graduated from the Umeå Academy of Fine Arts in 2016. Works by Helin can be found in several collections. Helin has also been awarded scholarships such as Konstnärsnämndens Assistentstipendium and Vera and Göran Agnekil’s scholarship for younger artists.
