John Copeland & George Rouy – Transfiguration
1 Sep15:00 – 15:45
The Chapel, Charlottenborg
The conversation between the two painters John Copeland and George Rouy will explore how they each explore the notion of figurative painting.
The compositions in John Copeland’s (b. 1976, USA) paintings are complex; mirrored and distorted characters, paintings within paintings, and abstractions sprouting from figurative elements.
George Rouy (b. 1994, UK) paints otherworldly compositions that appear both present and aloof, sensual and ambiguous with their sculptural amorphous figures that exist between beauty and the grotesque.
Moderator: Francesca Gavin, London based Curator, Writer and Editor.
