Alexander Tovborg – Live speak
31 Aug13:30 –14:00
The Cinema, Charlottenborg
Blå Time is a meeting-point for the cinematic unfolding of the Super8 film medium, to which Danish and international artists, diverse in age and identity, have been invited. During the production of each edition, the same Super8 camera, along with 1-4 rolls of film have been passed on between the participating artists.
One common dogma for the project and its participants has been not to edit their material – consequently, all films that have been made as part of the project have only undergone editing during the recordings themselves and are shown as raw edits at Blå Time’s four individual editions. The raw expression, the intimate tactility of the Super8 film and the artists’ inherent intuitions have been essential to the process, action and progress of the project. Blå time has been a recurring film club housed at the cinema at Kunsthal Charlottenborg created by Emma Rosenzweig and Albert Grøndahl.
Four editions and 16 individual films by 16 individual artists have been created, of which the last four films will premiere on Friday 30 August, the opening day of CHART. On Saturday 31 August and Sunday 1 September, all the films will be screened collectively for the first time in the cinema at Kunsthal Charlottenborg.
For his performance, Alexander Tovborg will do a live speech over his film, which was recorded in Mexico. The film begins with the following text introduction: ‘Ay, ay, ay, ay. Do not sing and cry. When you sing, the heart becomes happy. Little beautiful cloud, the whole heart.’
The venue is wheelchair accessible.
