About Peter Holst Henckel
Peter Holst Henckel’s (b. DK 1966) artistic practice is expressed in the cross-field between aesthetics, politics and poetry. Often the works balance on the narrow line between a simple, lucid expression and a conceptually dense complex of meaning. The immediate, simple expression is intended as an open invitation to the observer to interact with the work and contribute to the production of its meaning. To Peter Holst Henckel, there is no contradiction between form and content, aesthetics and mean- ing; on the contrary, the formal and social dimensions of the work continually reflect each other, thereby creating new config- urations, new meanings and new questions. Among other things, the encounter with the works invites the audience to reflect on the relationship between aesthetics and its historical/political context
Peter Holst Henckel will do a series of new works for CHART 2018. As these works are only in the making, and on their way, we can not tell a precise size now. Holst Henckel will do 3-5 denim works as the ones shown, in various sizes ranging from app 160 x 120 to 100 x 80 cm. He will also do 3-5 photograhic works in the size of app 125 x 100 cm.
