About Pearla Piago
Piago discovers how she can materialize music and sound true digital handwoven textiles. It is a resemblance on how you digital are building surface in the loom and how you build up a musical composition. With this in mind, she transforms different sound structures to a tactile experience, as if the sound get three dimensional – something you can touch and walk around. Through using metal threads as warp and weft in the loom, she transform woven surfaces into instruments. All this is linked to her earlier practice as a musician. Sound and music lead her to the world of visual art, craft and the loom.
